shoppify.tech is an independent publication about building and running an online store. It is written to be checked — every figure has a source and a date — and it is not connected to Shopify Inc. in any way.
What this site is
A small, opinionated review site covering one platform and the tools around it. We read the fine print, work the numbers through to what they cost you, test on our own development store where a page says so, and give a recommendation rather than a list of considerations. If a page ends without telling you what we would do, it is not finished.
Who writes it
shoppify.tech is written and edited by Nick Holloway. He reads the fine print so you do not have to — pricing pages, fee schedules, App Store listings and help-centre articles — works the numbers through to what they cost per order, and measures themes on the site’s own development store.
Where something has not been tested, the page says so. Where a figure comes from someone else, it says whose, and when it was read.
What we are not
We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Shopify Inc. We are not an agency and we do not build stores for clients, which means we have nothing to sell you beyond the recommendations themselves. We make money through affiliate links, explained in full on our affiliate disclosure page.
Corrections
If a figure on this site is wrong or out of date, tell us and we will fix it and say that we did. Use our contact page.
