How things get onto this site, what can and cannot influence a recommendation, and what happens when we are wrong.
Independence
No brand pays for coverage, position or a score. No brand reviews a draft. We buy or sign up for what we test at our own cost; where a vendor provides access, the page says so plainly. A commercial relationship never changes a verdict, and the order of a table is decided by the measurement it is sorted on.
How recommendations are made
Every category page starts from criteria written before testing. Anything recommended has been used on a real store. Where we have not tested something, we say we have not tested it rather than summarising its marketing.
Updates and corrections
Pages carry the date their figures were last checked. Prices and rankings are re-verified on a schedule, and any page where the numbers have gone stale is either updated or marked as out of date. Corrections are made in the page and noted, not quietly edited away.
Use of AI
