What an affiliate link is
Some links on this site are tracked. If you follow one and go on to sign up or buy, the company pays us a commission. It costs you nothing — the price is the same as it would be if you had typed the address yourself.
How you can tell
Every affiliate link on this site is an orange button or is labelled as a sponsored link. Editorial links — to our own pages, to documentation, to sources — are blue and are never paid. Pages that carry a commercial link also carry a disclosure box near the top.
What it does not change
It does not change what we recommend, the order of a table, or a score. Tables are sorted by the figure at the top of the column, and several of the things we recommend pay us nothing at all. Where the best answer is a free option, or is not to buy anything, that is what the page says.
Who pays us
Affiliate programmes covering the platform itself, themes, apps and courses. The specific programmes change over time; where a page’s recommendation involves a company that pays us, the page says so.
